Fenugreek is an annual plant that grows wild in the north of India but is now cultivated everywhere as an annual crop. The seeds are useful in treating constipation, high cholesterol, diabetes and obesity.

Benefits of Fenugreek: Cholesterol, diabetes, indigestion, loss of appetite, flatulence, dyspepsia, colic, diarrhoea, dysentery, enlargement of liver and spleen.

Action: Carminative, cholesterolaemic, bulk laxative, antidiabetic, demulcent, expectorant.

Scientific name: Trigonella foenum-graecum.
